#TimeAfterTime at Manchester Museum
A day of hands-on workshops in repairing electrics, mending clothes & making phone accessories. Learn about e-waste & circular solutions ♻
Organised by HubHub at Manchester Museum
#TimeAfterTime
E-waste is the fastest growing waste stream in the world.* By 2040 the production and use of electronics will make up 14% of global carbon emissions.**
Join us for the #TimeAfterTime Repair Fair to learn all about e-waste and what you can do to prevent it.
We have workshops on how to fix small electricals with experts from local repair café, The Boiler House, guidance from a phone Guru to keep your phone running at 💯, and phone accessories that can help keep your phone stay safe from smashes.
Did you know 45% of people would rather replace a broken device than repair it?*** And the most common way to break a phone is by accidental drops, raise your hand if you have ever been personally victimised by phone-dropping. So, to protect your phone ✨fashionably ✨ we have free phone-beads drop-in sessions with independent jewellery designer Steph Metal running between 2-6pm and phone accessory crafting with local plastic upcycling group Plastic Shed open between 12-6pm.
Displays at the Fair will be created by the graphic design course of the Manchester School of Art at Manchester Metropolitan University.
We also have a clothes mending workshop run by experts from The Boiler House – please book into this and the electricals repair workshop as they have limited capacity. Everything else is free to drop into and explore!
This event will be held on the Top Floor of the Manchester Museum.
