Climate Café

Anxiety and unease caused by issues related to the climate and ecological crisis is profoundly affecting people’s wellbeing and mental health. A recent survey revealed more than 60% of people aged 16–25 reported experiencing some form of climate-related anxiety.

A Climate Café aims to get more people talking about climate change and provide a welcoming and supportive space to share our feelings. They are for everyone to participate in, whether you are involved in climate action or not. Many people find them inspiring and positive experiences.

What happens during a Climate Café?

The Climate Café is an action-free space: the focus is our thoughts and feelings about climate change, rather than what we’re doing about it. Over hot drinks and cakes we’ll have an informal and confidential conversation, supported by a facilitator. You can choose to share as much or as little as you feel comfortable with and there is no expectation or requirement to attend regularly.

This event will take place in the Manchester Museum Café. Your ticket price covers a hot drink and cake (including vegan and gluten free options). We also make a number of free tickets available to remove barriers for people who would otherwise not be able to attend.

Manchester Museum’s Climate Café is supported by the Climate Psychology Alliance.
