Wild About Birds
Free family half-term events and activities
Keep your eyes on the sky and go Wild About Birds with us throughout February half-term at Manchester Museum.
Swiftly following on from the RSPB’s Big School Birdwatch, dive into a week of free, feathery fun, from hands-on craft activities and trails to a full-day of exciting bird-themed dance and performance.
It all gets underway on Saturday 15 February (11am-4pm) when you’ll be invited to open your wings and show off your best moves at our colourful Bird Rave.
Whether you’re a Tweetie Pie or a Big Bird, everyone in the family can lose themselves to a classic rave soundtrack, while taking in a captivating performance of ‘dancefloor ornithology’ from the Bird Rave artists.
Before hitting the dancefloor, you’ll also be able to create your own plumage in one of our workshops, running throughout the day. The Bird Rave dancers will perform at 2.15pm and 3.30pm, with a rave dance workshop sandwiched in-between at 2.45pm.
Throughout the rest of half-term, you’ll be able to take part in our bird-spotting trail and make paper birds in our craft workshops. We’ll also be joined by the RSPB on 15, 16, 18, 20, 22 and 23 February, ready to tell you all about your favourite winged wonders and get you involved in fun activities.
