Architecture tour and afternoon tea
In a beautiful 130-year old Alfred Waterhouse building, Manchester Museum stands proud as part of the University of Manchester on Oxford Road.
Visitors lose themselves in stories of what it is to be human and rethink their relationships with the natural world, but how many really think about the Museum itself?
Focusing on architecture, this special guided tour will take you on a journey through time, from the institution’s origins to the Manchester Museum that we love today. The tour will be followed by a mouth-watering vegetarian afternoon tea of your choice at the Museum Café.
There are 3 different options for afternoon tea:
- Cream tea, including one scone with jam and clotted cream plus a hot drink for £7.95.
- Afternoon tea, including four sandwiches (cheese and onion; red pepper and pesto mayonnaise; coronation chickpea; egg mayo), two mini cakes, one scone with jam and clotted cream, strawberries and a pot of tea or coffee for £19.95.
- Champagne afternoon tea, including everything included in the afternoon tea plus Prosecco or Champagne for £24.95.
The tour starts at 1.15pm and the afternoon tea will be served from 2pm. Please arrive at 1pm for registration.
