Repair as Resistance
Exploring the repair of our stuff, ourselves and our communities
Repair as Resistance is led by Breaks & Joins, a project exploring the desire to repair as a form of resistance to many of the challenges of the contemporary world.
Come and listen, engage, watch, participate, and think about how we might all become repairers, and how we face the fact that not everything can or should be mended.
- Hear tales of repair from the Royal Exchange Theatre Elders Company and guests.
- Watch Chuck Blue Lowry’s film: Can Everything be mended?
- Bring your broken items to our repair café.
- Consider Sustainability, Climate Justice, Activism and Wellbeing with a team of experts.
- Hear poems from the acclaimed poet Arji Manuelpillai.
- Participate in workshops with Rachel Ho, (scarred pots) Poetry (Sue Mayo & Arji Manuelpillai), and Mending our Communities (Raj Bhari).
