AI trail for home learners

with instAcademy

Home educating families can get hands-on and have fun as part of a Museum trail with an AI tutor, hosted by instAcademy.

instAcademy is an app that supports learners and educators to connect everyday experience activities and places with curriculum learning points. It allows users to share and connect these learning moments with other learners and experts and has an in-built ‘AI tutor’ to help support your learning.

The project team, including academics from the University of Manchester Institute of Education, would like to invite home educating families to Manchester Museum to find out more!

They will introduce the app and explore how to use AI tools to support your learning in a safe way. You will have the opportunity to try out the instAcademy app by following its ‘Science Story’ around the Museum. You’ll also have the chance to contribute to the design of a learning app for understanding science and other curriculum concepts in the Museum and beyond, learning about how to use AI tools safely and effectively.

Attendees will be invited to join a follow-up webinar, two weeks later, to explore how you can extend the learning from your visit to the Museum to other places and activities (details of this will be provided on the day).

Who is this for?

Home educating families with Key Stage 2 or Key Stage 3-level learners.

This is a free event but please make sure you book one ticket per family group. We require that learners are accompanied by a parent/carer at all times.

Please note that you will need to bring a mobile device to the Museum: the science learning story activity works with both Apple and Android mobile devices.
