University of Manchester Community Festival
All welcome!
On Saturday 10 June 2023, once again we will be opening our doors to our local community.
Ever fancied hunting for the stars, tickling a robot or fighting killer fungus? Ever wondered how strong chocolate is, how the nervous system works or wanted to share your Manchester memories?
Our free Community Festival runs from 11am – 4pm and is jam-packed with fun activities for all the family. Whether you want to get hands-on or just want to listen to some fascinating stories and watch live performances, we’ve got it covered. We’re showcasing some world-changing discoveries across the sciences, medicine and the arts and adding in a healthy dose of play – and you get to be a part of it!
We’re opening up a host of exciting spaces on campus for indoor and outdoor activities including Manchester Museum a place of extraordinary stories and objects in unique galleries.
Have fun exploring your local university!
One visitor from last year said, “It was amazing to see children so motivated about science. The activities really captured their attention. A five-star day!”
So come and join us for a marvellous day of interactive science experiments, creative sessions, poetry, and music performances, story time, forestry school, sporting challenges, heritage tours, face-painting, a helter-skelter, the chance to meet with our staff, students and community partners…and much, much more!
