Carving and printing workshop, part of Salaam Festival

Saba Siddiqui will lead a delightful lino carving and printing workshop inspired by Islamic art.

This workshop will show you how to carve and print designs to create unique pieces of art ready for framing. It is part of Salaam Festival, a week-long celebration that reflects the diversity of Islamic art and culture.

All abilities are welcome to join. Age restriction 18+ due to sharp tools.

Saba is a British Asian artist from Sheffield who has recently completed her BA in Art and Design at the University of Leeds. Saba has most recently combined her research interests of decolonising student education, museums and galleries with her art practice through multimedia installations.

She has a particular passion for printmaking, textiles and surface pattern design. Her work is described as full of colour, pattern and texture, representing how her culture and upbringing shapes her personal style. Saba considers the accessibility of her art to all people by stimulating a variety of senses through installations and touches on the concept of relational aesthetics through her work.
