Our shared cultural heritage
Our award-winning Our Shared Cultural Heritage (OSCH) Manchester programme focused on providing opportunities within the heritage sector for young people aged 18-25 from the South Asian diaspora and their peers.
The project explored how museums and heritage organisations can become more relevant, welcoming and engaging places to explore identity, connect with others and develop critical and creative projects by and for young people, especially those from ethnically diverse backgrounds.
Through this initiative, we offered a range of activities and events at the museum exploring heritage, identity and belonging, from regular drop-in OSCH Collective socials and Radical Readers Group book discussions to South Asian Heritage Month celebrations and our OSCH Showcase event in September 2023.
